When we launched the SG10 Copper Edition pre-orders, we knew the choice of compatible GPUs was limited, which is why it was critical for us to collect customer choices and have an extended lead time to evaluate how best to cover the widest selection of graphics cards. Today, we would like to elaborate on this and answer some of the questions that are most commonly asked about the SG10 Copper Edition.
Expanding the Compatibility List
Our initial list of compatible cards consisted of just six cards, chosen at the time of product development based on popularity (from sales figure data). Obviously, that has somewhat changed, but fortunately, they represented a good starting point for ‘comparable’ board layouts, which allows our modular cooling solution to be quickly adapted to the minor variations between cards.

We have already identified 12 additional requested cards that appear to be suitable and, once validated, will be added to the list of cold plate options. As we collect more customer requests and validate more cards, we will continue expanding on this list. Our goal is to cover the majority of popular cards and continue to add compatibility wherever possible.
With this in mind, we have also decided to modify how we collect card choices; previously, when placing an order, you would enter your first choice and then choose a backup option from the short list of compatible cards. As we aim to expand the list of compatible cards, knowing a customer’s second card option will provide more valuable data on which cards we need to add.
Free Cold Plate Upgrade
Another question that often comes up is compatibility with new cards, and whilst we can’t guarantee next-generation GPUs can be supported until they have been released and are able to test them, we are firmly committed to ongoing compatibility expansion. Whether it’s a new generation of GPU, or you decide the card you chose wasn’t the right one for you, every SG10 Copper Edition will include a free cold plate upgrade, valid for the first two years from delivery.
This offer for the free cold plate upgrade only applies to the Copper Edition, as we appreciate the current choice of compatible cards is limited and excludes shipping.
Other SG10 Copper Edition FAQs
- Does the SG10 support E-ATX motherboards?YES .... BUT ..... Whilst the E-ATX form factor is a recognized standard for larger motherboard sizes, unlike ATX, the exact dimensions can vary slightly between manufacturers. The official width for E-ATX is generally considered to be about 305 mm, with the width extending beyond the standard ATX width of 244 mm. However, there is no strictly enforced maximum width for E-ATX, so some boards labelled E-ATX might be as wide as 330 mm or more. For reference, this is how it would look.
- Why do I need to buy a voucher from Calyos first? As part of our commitment to refund all Kickstarter backers who no longer want the product, the pledge voucher is our mechanism for making this happen.
- Is the SG10 going into production now or does it need to reach a minimum number of units pre-ordered?The SG10 Copper Edition is going into production irrespective of how many units are sold and many parts have already been ordered.
- When will the regular SG10 be available for purchase? The regular (non-copper edition) SG10 is planned for release towards the end of 2024 with a retail price of €1000
- Will I be able to buy the Copper Edition again in future? The SG10 Copper Edition is a one-time production product; only 500 will be made, and it will NOT be produced again in future.
- Where is the SG10 being manufactured? While many of the components are sourced in China, the final assembly of the SG10 will take place in Belgium, as integration with the evaporator must be done by Calyos.
Production Status
** Updated 26th November 2024 **
We appreciate that this being a pre-order product with a relatively long lead time means we must be fully transparent about the production status and ETA. The original target for starting delivery was MID/END Q2 2024, but we are behind schedule due to manufacturing delays on some parts.
We have broken down the key production components and processes to present an overview of the current status. This information will be updated regularly and should provide a good reference for when delivery can start.
The SG10 comprises over 300 individual parts (excluding screws and fasteners), all of which are essential to complete final assembly. As most parts are manufactured in China, we also need to allow a 6-7 week delivery time for them to arrive in Belgium for final assembly.
-
Evaporator
This key component is manufactured in-house by Calyos is Belgium and is not subject to the additional shipping lead time but can not be integrated without the condenser.
-
Condenser

-
Steel Parts

List of supported cards and customer choice will happen during the logistics process.
As we approach the final stages of this manufacturing cycle, we are grateful for your patience and understanding throughout this drawn-out process. It has been a complex undertaking, but the finish line is within sight.
We are currently awaiting the arrival of a ship in Europe carrying the semi-assembled SG10 parts. Unfortunately, there have been shipping delays due to unforeseen circumstances, including poor weather conditions. The original estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the goods was November 4th, but it has now been postponed to November 25th. Assuming there are no further shipping delays, we will begin the final assembly at the end of November and expect to deliver all current pre-orders by the end of this year.
A final survey to select the GPU cold plate will be sent out shortly, supporting approximately 100 cards. We anticipate that the cold plates will also be compatible with cards that are not listed, but this will be an ongoing validation process.
